Located exactly outside the ferry terminal at Silvermine Bay and you need to walk along the bike parking area then pass public toilet and the mini stores on the side walk next to seafood restaurants.
Cross the along the circular road facing the restaurant and if you look carefully on the middle left of the photo above, the yellow sign post of Lantau Trail is pointing you to the left which will begin your 100% concrete adventure.
This is the main attraction / highlight of the trail. While standing at the viewing point you can see Luk Tei Tung, Ngan Wan Estate, Tai Tei Long, Mui Wo as well as Chung Chau.

In under and hour you will reach your end point and these are landmarks to known when your done. The above photo is the starting point of Lantau Trail Section 2.

Shelter, Picnic Ground, Barbecue Area and Lavatories are available in this section.

Archway to Sunset Peak, Lantau Trail Section 2
(Hong Kong's 3rd Highest Summit)
Lantau Trail is also rich with Trail signs and rest assure that you are always on the safe side when you read and follow the signs diligently.
Finally, the very famous signboard of Lantau Trail. The shape features Lantau Peak (934masl) Hong Kong's 2nd Highest Peak and Sunset Peak (869masl) Hong Kong's 3rd Highest Peak.

Section 1 is like a warm-up stage and you can proceed to Section 2 if you feel like it. Section 2 is a strenuous hike, may take around 2.75 Hrs - 3.0+ Hrs (depending on your pace) at a distance of 6.5 Km and it will end at Pak Kung Au. There are plenty of buses available on the opposite road that can get you back to Tung Chung MTR Station.
